Problem Solver

About

I’m a Northern California-based editor, content & creative operations lead, and content strategist with a background in traditional print and digital media. In the past ten years working in the field I’ve developed a strong skillset initiating, planning, executing, managing, and closing award-winning creative projects. When I’m not working, I’m usually out on a long run, in a book, or out on the trail.

My CV

I started my career as a freelance writer, working on everything from short explorations of the sociology of moshing to deeply reported feature stories on a state partition movement in Northern California and Southern Oregon and profiles of characters like the founders and leaders of the Satanic Temple. My work from this period appeared in ViceInvestopediaHopes & Fears, and some now-defunct (but greatly missed) local free weeklies.

In early 2016, I joined HiConsumption as its first full-time employee. As the company grew, I served as a player coach, writing & editing stories at volume while building an employee handbook, onboarding new hires, scheduling content, and running weekly pitch meetings.

At Gear Patrol, an award winning publication covering products for enthusiasts, I worked in a wide variety of roles focusing on operational excellence. After joining the company in 2018 as an assistant editor on the editorial operations team, I was promoted to associate editor, then platforms editor where my efforts to launch the ‘Library of Pursits’ won the publication an award for Marketing Innovation from Mailchimp & Fast Company, and managing editor. As director of editorial operations, I oversaw operations for both Gear Patrol and DPReview, a photography review website acquired from Amazon.
